Comblain-la-Tour
International Jazz Festival
3rd- 4th July 2010
Comblain, “European Jazz capital”, the famous Festival starts again!
First European jazz festival, legendary event of the Sixties', mythical place of the Jazz history in Belgium and in the world, Comblain-La-Tour revived the blue note in 2009 on the occasion of the 50th birthday of the Festival creation by the GI Joe Napoli. After Chet Baker, Ray Charles, Nina Simone, John Coltrane and so many stars, Steve Houben, Philip Catherine, Archie Shepp and 17 groups put an end to a few decades of silence…
The magic still operates : two days of happiness in the fashion of Comblain is worth its weight in gold in our tumultuous world. The result is …a new festival on 3rd- 4th July 2010!
20 hours of music, 20 hours of pure happiness, in the country, under the protection of marquees and the hundred-years old trees in the magic Park Biron: the first weekend of July 2010 has excellent surprises in store for you!
Legendary musicians : Toots Thielemans and Lee Konitz. Big names in jazz: Richard Galliano, Gonzalo Rubalcaba. Amazing music with Aka Moon, Sissoko Baba and Black Machine… Brand young bands to be discovered : Metropolitan Quintet, Adrien Volant Quartet, Evan Suryan Quartet. Extraordinary musicians for the first time in Belgium such as Oran Etkin Quartet(USA-Mali) or Igor Boxx (Skalpel/Poland). Blues with Carvin Jones, madness with the Massot trio /Florizoone/Horbaczewski and its impossible mixture of accordion, cello and tuba, the sensual voice of Fanny Bériaux, the Karmasutra de Slang… The Kermesz à l’Est Brass band, the Brussel' S Little Big Band, Ceszarius Gadzina Quartet…
Nothing but fashionable society, unequalled musicians, who love music and stage and give fully of themselves …
Between tradition and innovation, standards and impros, passion and tenderness, everybody will be happy!
So come and spend your first summer weekend on soft grass, on the bank of the Ourthe: the festival of Comblain-La-Tour will fulfill your desires…
